bloomUp Achieves Renowned B Corp Certification, Reinforcing Commitment to Sustainability and Positive Impact

bloomUp achieves renowned B Corp Certification, reinforcing commitment to sustainability and positive impact.

Lausanne, Switzerland – May 22, 2025 – bloomUp, a global consultancy recognised for its leadership in sustainability, innovation, and the promotion of active lifestyles, proudly announces its certification as a B Corporation (B Corp). bloomUp certified with 125.9 points – well above the required minimum of 80 points! As a consultancy operating in the sports and event ecosystem, this esteemed recognition underscores bloomUp’s unwavering dedication to balancing people, planet and prosperity with purpose. Through its work, bloomUp drives positive change by empowering youth, boosting local economies, restoring biodiversity, and delivering lasting impact for both society and the environment.

What Does It Mean to Us?

At bloomUp, we’ve always believed that business can—and must—be a force for good. Becoming a Certified B Corporation is more than a badge of honour; it’s a validation of the way we think, work, and lead.

From our roots in Lausanne, the Olympic Capital, our journey has been shaped by sustainability, innovation, and collaboration. This certification affirms our belief in doing business differently—putting collective well-being, environmental regeneration, and meaningful impact at the heart of every decision.

For us, it’s not just recognition. It’s a responsibility. And a renewed promise to stay authentic, keep pushing boundaries, and walk the talk.

“From day one, we embedded B Corp not just in our statutes, but in the way we shape our company — from governance to how we engage with our workforce, clients, and community, all while respecting the environment. We don’t just talk about sustainability; we work hard, often in silence, to lead by example. This recognition is a proud milestone — but above all, it’s a responsibility, and the beginning of a continuous journey of learning, collaboration, and improvement.”

– Neil Beecroft, bloomUp CoFounder

What Is B Corp?

This highly renowned certification is awarded to businesses that achieve a minimum score of 80 points by meeting high verified standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. It is rigorous and holistic —evaluating companies based on factors varying from employee well-being and supply chain ethics to governance models and charitable giving.

B Corps are required to consider the impact of their decisions on all stakeholders—not just shareholders. The assessment involves measuring 5 Impact Area Pillars: governance, workers, customers, communities, and the environment. It’s about embracing a broader definition of success—one rooted in long-term positive impact.

As part of a growing community of over 9,600+ B Corps across 100+ countries and 160 industries, we’re proud to stand alongside pioneers who are reshaping what business can—and should—be. In a world where people want to work for, buy from, and invest in companies they trust, B Corp Certification is the gold standard for credibility and impact.

This is not a one-time certification—it’s an ongoing journey. B Corps must recertify every three years, using the B Impact Assessment to continuously improve, track progress, and set ambitious goals for future impact.

For bloomUp, this meant formalising many of the sustainable and inclusive practices already embedded in our DNA—and identifying new areas to grow and reach further ambitious goals.

“For me, reaching this milestone is a clear affirmation of our commitment to creating real, positive, and measurable impact. It shows that purpose and impact are at the heart of everything we do for society, sports and the planet.”

– Jorge Bolanos, bloomUp Sustainability Data Analyst

Challenges

This path hasn’t been linear. As a global consultancy, we’ve faced key challenges along the way:

  • Efficiently reporting on processes to capture both tangible and intangible impact.

  • Standardising and centralising necessary data.
  • Constantly reassessing and launching new initiatives to keep up with B Lab’s evolving and stricter criteria.

Every challenge has allowed for learning and to perceive new opportunities to continue to develop and grow.

“bloomUp becoming a B Corp means leading by example. By becoming B Corp certified, I believe we are showing a real commitment and preaching what we actually do.”

– Mahaut Recht, bloomUp Junior Sustainability Consultant

Looking Ahead

B Corp certification is not the end of our journey—it’s a new beginning. As a newly certified B Corporation, bloomUp is motivated more than ever to continue its mission of delivering innovative solutions that drive sustainability and positive impact. As B Lab has recently released new standards for certification, bloomUp will strive to recertify within this updated framework. This means deepening its commitments across key impact areas, and further aligning with global sustainability and equity goals. The company remains dedicated to fostering collaborations that inspire change and contribute to a more sustainable and equitable world.

We will continue to:

  • Apply our 361° systems approach to tackle complex sustainability challenges.
  • Empower clients through data-driven strategies using the bloomUp data compass.
  • Innovate responsibly and inclusively, always guided by our values.
  • Support our ecosystems to do good
  • Strengthen communities
  • Support active lifestyles for better health

What does B Corp certification mean to bloomUp and their network?

“The B Corp certification journey has been a powerful catalyst for bloomUp. It strengthened our governance, sharpened our processes, and broadened our perspective with new key performance indicators—enabling us to deliver meaningful impact at the highest level.”

— Anne-Cécile Turner, bloomUp CoFounder

“Joining a group of exclusive, high-achieving players who are committed and serious about making the world a somewhat better place… and leading by example!”

– Philippe Furrer, bloomUp CoFounder

“Congratulations to bloomUp on achieving B Corp certification—a significant milestone that reflects their unwavering commitment to people and the planet. Through their work on our sustainability strategy, they provided meaningful support across both social and environmental aspects. For example, throughout their work on our FIBA Youth Leaders program – they’ve shown what it means to drive positive impact with purpose.”

– Natalia Galkina, FIBA Sustainability Lead

“The B corp certification is another confirmation of the dedication and passion that I also see and feel at bloomUp within our collaboration. This ‘walk the talk’ crowning is one of the reasons we believe in bloomUp’s value to help us navigate to come to a good plan to support our clubs in becoming sustainable companies, step by step. “In many partnerships you make an agreement that should result in the partner delivering some outputs of products without any additional commitments, which is of course quite normal. Yet, within the bloomUp team the out-of-scope effort that they put into continuously trying to find new ways and inform you on relevant news or trends to enhance the quality of the work, clearly shows that they are focused on impact rather than just delivering what is asked. In that sense you can say that they do not only work on sustainability as their

core business, but also try to work in a sustainable way and that earns appreciation.”

– Andreas De Roeck, Belgian Pro League Football & Social Responsibility Officer
